Juneteenth 1865

June 19th is the day we commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans in the United States. Juneteenth is also recognized as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, and Liberation Day.  In 2021 the Biden administration acknowledged that Juneteenth is a federal holiday, raising awareness of a historical moment in the history of our nation.

We acknowledge the progress made however, there is more legislation needed for change to continue such as; police brutality, voting rights, health care reform, injustice, and gun regulations.

As we continue to move forward we accept this recognition as the first step to progressive change.
